The riverboats continue to file petitions and lawsuits in their fight not to pay the 3% money. Their latest ploy is to take this case back to Will County where a judge will decide if new evidence is relevant to its legality. That hearing is tomorrow (Wednesday, June 17) and we anticipate the judge will ask for time to review the case. Our legal team anticipates and hopes that a decision will be made whether to hear the case within 30 days. There is also a lawsuit  in which the riverboats are suing Rod Blagojevich and asking that the money from HB 1918 be placed in a “constructive trust” until its completion. We wish we could announce something more specific but in reality we are back to a wait and see mode. We will update as soon as something changes.
